The point of the video is to stress how different these ways are to those traditionally used in higher education.

There has been a lot of research conducted on how students learn. Researchers from Carnegie Mellon have distilled the research from a breadth of perspectives (cognitive, developmental and social psychology, educational research, anthropology, and organizational behavior) to develop these seven principles.
